About

I’m a seamstress with a love of discovering new ideas in tried and true clothes.

As a young girl, my mother taught me to sew. Many of my first projects included bags, doll clothes and book covers. Though what I made wasn’t perfect, I was excited to learn how to make things on my own and grow my new skill.

Much like learning from my first projects, there is a lot we can learn about the past. Previous times tell us what clothes used to have, such as suitably large pockets for women’s dresses and skirts (the lack thereof being the bane of every modern woman’s wardrobe.) The past can also tell us a lot about how garments in bygone eras improved the lives of their wearers.

In the past few years I’ve taken what I’ve learned from history and fun experiments of my favorite seamstresses and hobbyists and incorporated them into my own projects. From learning to improve my hand stitching to what is needed for costumes or sewing particular fabrics, I’ve grown my skill level and earned an appreciation for those who have discovered this amazing knowledge before me.

Whether you have a beloved garment that needs a breath of new life, you have a lucky find from your local thrift shop, or you need something new made that’s inspired from from an existing garment, style, I will work to accomplish your vision. Let’s work together to make your dream closet come true!
